Connecting to Zoom
Cronofy powers scheduling for a range of applications. Recruiting, online booking, coaching, healthcare services and many more rely on Cronofy to safely and securely access people’s calendars and find times for meetings that work for everyone.
The Zoom integration for Cronofy allows those applications to add a Zoom meeting to any of the scheduled events. The application doesn’t need access to your Zoom account, you enable with Cronofy and it will handle it all on your behalf.
There are two ways you can connect your Zoom account to Cronofy. Either, by logging into Cronofy and setting it up directly or using an authorization screen triggered from an application that is using Cronofy.
Please note that Zoom requires the Zoom account to be on a paid plan (Zoom Pro or above); free Zoom accounts cannot be accessed by applications such as Cronofy.
Directly from Cronofy #
- Click on your account name at the bottom of the left hand menu, select ‘Your Account’ and from that page click on Conferencing Services
- Click on Add Conferencing Service
3. Choose Zoom and follow the steps to authorize your Zoom account.
Zoom is now connected to your Cronofy account and any application that supports adding conferencing to your scheduled events can add a new Zoom meeting.
From an application that uses Cronofy #
The application will redirect you to a link that looks similar to the following.
Choose the Zoom option and follow the steps to authorize your Zoom account.
You will be redirected back to the application. The application will now be able to request that Cronofy use your Zoom account to generate Zoom meetings for events it creates.
The application will not have access to your Zoom account. No credentials are shared with the application.
Removing access to your Zoom account #
To disconnect your Zoom account from Cronofy.
- Go to Conferencing Services
- Click on the cross next to the Zoom link.
This will remove the link from Cronofy to your Zoom account and prevent any more meetings being created.
No existing meetings will be deleted.
Alternatively you can uninstall the app from the Zoom marketplace.
- Login to your Zoom Account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace
- Click Manage > Installed Apps or search for the Cronofy app.
- Click the Cronofy app.
- Click Uninstall.
Using the Zoom integration #
How the application you’re using makes use of the Zoom integration will depend on how that application creates events in your calendar. With the Zoom integration enabled, the application will be able to generate Zoom meetings for each of the events it creates on your behalf.
If you’re the developer of an application looking to use the Zoom integration, documentation can be found in our Conferencing Services section.
