Directory sync
Read as MarkdownDirectory sync creates Cronofy accounts for everyone in your organization, and keeps checking for new people. Nobody has to accept an invitation or sign up themselves, which makes it the simplest way to roll the Scheduler out to a whole company.
It uses Enterprise Connect, which links a service account for your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 organization to Cronofy. Enterprise Connect has no extra cost, and supports syncing all of your directory or only part of it.
Before you start #
- You need the Owner role in your Organizational Unit.
- The service account must be authorized by an administrator of your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 organization. If authorization fails, the account you used doesn’t have the permissions needed, and you’ll need to resolve that with your IT team.
- If you’re setting up an Organizational Unit for the first time, sign up to Cronofy with your workplace admin account. You don’t need a developer account.
Connect your organization #
Connect your organization from the Organizational Unit’s member settings.
- Google Workspace: install the Cronofy app from the Google Workspace Marketplace, and authorize it with your Google admin account. One connection gives access to both calendars and the directory.
- Microsoft 365: Cronofy makes two separate connections, one to your directory and one to your calendars. Connect the directory first, then the calendars using Microsoft Graph.
- Microsoft Exchange (on-premises): follow configuring a service account.
For the details your calendar administrator needs, see the Enterprise Connect guide.
Start syncing members #
Once connected, the service account appears in your Organizational Unit. Open its settings and turn on provisioning for the connection that gives access to your organization’s directory. For Microsoft 365, that’s the directory connection, not the calendar one.
Cronofy then starts creating accounts for your organization’s users.
