# Set your preferences

Your preferences are the defaults for every scheduling request you create, and for anyone who books with you through your public link. You start with sensible defaults, such as a nine-to-five working week, so you can schedule straight away and adjust them as you go.

Open your preferences from the [Scheduler settings](https://app.cronofy.com/jump/scheduler_settings). They're in two parts: your availability, and the details of the events that get booked.

## Availability
Your availability decides which times Cronofy offers to the people booking with you.

### Work hours
The times you're available during the week. You can also offer [different times](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/available-times/index.md) for a single request, without changing these.

### Interview times
Placeholders in your calendar for time set aside for interviews, which can be offered as available slots.

### Included calendars
The calendars Cronofy checks for busy time. The calendar you signed up with is included, and you can [add more](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/calendar-and-events/connect-calendars/index.md).

### Duration
How long your events usually last.

### Scheduling period
How far ahead people can book. For example, with 14 days set, invitees can only pick a time in the next 14 days.

### Buffers
Time to keep free before and after meetings, to prepare or recap. Buffers apply around any busy event in your calendar, whether Cronofy created it or not. They're used to work out which times to offer, but aren't reserved as part of a booked event, so they can't be used to block time out in your calendar.

### Minimum notice
The least notice you need before an event, so nobody books a time that's too soon to prepare for.

## Event details
Event details decide how the events booked with you are set up.

### Target calendar
If you have more than one calendar, the one that booked events are added to.

### Conferencing
The conferencing service, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, that Cronofy adds a meeting link from. [Add a conferencing service](https://app.cronofy.com/user/conferencing_services/new) and authorize it, and it becomes your default. To use Google Meet, connect your Google calendar and choose your default conferencing service. If the service you want isn't available, contact [support](mailto:support@cronofy.com).

### Location
Your default location for face-to-face meetings.

### Reminders
Email reminders to you, as the host, before your events. Other participants don't get these reminders.

### Private events
Whether the events Cronofy adds to your calendar are marked as [private](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/calendar-and-events/data-privacy/index.md).

## Your public link
Your public link lets anyone book time with you, using these preferences. See [public links](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/public-links/index.md) for how to share it and what invitees are asked for.
