# Choose which times to offer

Each scheduling request offers times in one of three ways. How far ahead invitees can book comes from the [scheduling period](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/get-started/preferences/index.md) in your preferences.

## Working hours & interview times
The default. Your request offers the [work hours or interview times](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/get-started/preferences/index.md) from your preferences, leaving out any time you're already busy.

## Custom hours
Custom hours let you choose the times to offer for this request only, without changing your preferences. Use them to offer times outside your usual hours, such as for an important prospect, or to open up a hiring manager's diary.

With custom hours:

- your working hours are ignored

- your buffers and minimum notice still apply

## Specific slots
Specific slots let you choose the exact start times your invitee can pick from. Use them when you know precisely which times you want to offer.

With specific slots, your working hours, buffers and minimum notice are all ignored. Minimum notice is set to one hour instead.

## Offer times when you’re busy
With custom hours and specific slots, you also choose whether to offer times when your calendar is busy:

- **Only when I'm free:** times that clash with events in your calendar aren't offered.

- **Whether I'm busy or not:** times are offered even when your calendar is busy. Use it for someone who blocks out their calendar to keep time free, such as a hiring manager holding time for interviews. Events created by the Scheduler are still respected, so nobody is double-booked.

## Which times are offered
Cronofy works out which times to offer from:

- **Your calendar.** Events marked as busy or tentative aren't offered. Tentative counts as busy, to avoid double booking, so an invitation someone hasn't replied to blocks the time until they decline it.

- **Your preferences,** such as buffers and minimum notice.

- **Anyone else whose availability is used,** such as [other attendees](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/schedule-for-others/index.md) or the members of a [selection rule](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/selection-rules/index.md).

An all-day or multi-day event marked as busy, such as time out of office, removes any interview times inside it.

## Troubleshooting
### Why does my link say “No more slots available”?
If you're the **invitee**, the host has no more times to offer you. Contact them directly, so they can offer more.

If you're the **host**, check:

- **You offered the right times,** and your time zone is correct.

- **Your calendar is free then.** An all-day event marked as busy removes the whole day, so mark all-day events as free if they don't need to block time.

- **Buffers.** Buffers widen the free time needed for each slot. With a 30-minute buffer before and after a 30-minute meeting, Cronofy needs a free 90-minute window. Reducing your [buffers](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/get-started/preferences/index.md) can help.

- **Durations.** A long event needs a long free window in everyone's calendar.

- **Selection rules.** If not enough members of a [selection rule](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/selection-rules/index.md) are free, the request can't be booked. When several events are booked together, every one of them must be possible, or none are offered.

### How can I offer more times?
- Remove busy events from your calendar that don't need to block time, and decline invitations you won't attend rather than ignoring them.

- Check your preferences offer enough time, and that your buffers and minimum notice make sense.

- Use [custom hours](#custom-hours) with **Whether I'm busy or not** to offer times when your calendar is busy.

- [Ignore the availability](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/scheduling-and-booking/schedule-for-others/index.md) of attendees whose attendance isn't essential.
