# Schedule for other people

## Schedule on behalf of someone
You can create a scheduling request for someone else without attending yourself. For example, you can arrange an interview for a hiring manager, or offer a doctor's availability.

Change the request's host to the person you're scheduling for. Their availability is used, and they own the calendar event once it's booked. You can only schedule on behalf of members of your [Organizational Unit](https://docs.cronofy.com/schedule/account-team-setup/organizational-units/index.md).

Availability sharing, and scheduling on behalf of one another, are both on by default for an Organizational Unit. An admin can turn them off in its scheduling settings.

## Stay informed as the coordinator
As the coordinator, you're emailed by Cronofy when the event changes, such as when it's moved or canceled, even though you're not attending. The host and invitee are emailed by Cronofy too.

Other attendees get updates from their calendar provider, such as Google or Microsoft, as they would for any other meeting.

## Add other attendees
Meetings often involve more than one person. You can add anyone with an email address to a request as an attendee. They're invited as soon as your invitee picks a time, so nobody is double-booked, and they're added to the event in your calendar once they accept.

This is useful when you're arranging a call with a customer and want to bring in colleagues.

## Check attendees’ availability
For attendees in your Organizational Unit, Cronofy uses their availability too, and only offers times that work for everyone. The request shows whose availability is being used, and how many slots are still available. If adding someone leaves no slots, they may need to free up time in their calendar.

## Ignore someone’s availability
You can ignore an attendee's availability, so Cronofy offers times whether they're free or not. It's useful when their attendance isn't essential, or they just want the event in their calendar. They're still invited.

You can only ignore the availability of people in your Organizational Unit.
