Templates

Read as Markdown

A template saves the details of a request you send often, such as a type of interview or demo, so you can reuse them instead of setting the request up each time. It’s the quickest way to schedule a high volume of similar events.

A template holds everything a scheduling request does: the host, which can be a person or a selection rule, the event details, the times to offer, tags and more.

Template types #

Choose a type when you create a template, depending on how you’ll use it:

  • Scheduling request: fills in the request form, so you can send a request with the details already set. It’s the only type that can have no host.
  • Public link: gives you a public link that anyone can book through, such as for sourcing candidates or booking demos. It needs a host or selection rule.
  • Scheduling trigger: used to schedule automatically when a candidate reaches a stage in your applicant tracking system. It needs a host or selection rule. See templates with integrations.

Create a template #

Create templates from your Organizational Unit’s scheduling settings.

  1. Name the template, and choose its type.
  2. Choose the host: a person, or a selection rule. You can create a selection rule as you go.
  3. Set up the rest as you would a scheduling request. Public link templates also let you choose what to ask invitees before they book.

Any problems with the template are shown when you save it. For help, contact support.

You can edit or delete a template at any time.

Placeholders #

Placeholders fill in details such as the host’s name, the attendee’s name or your organization’s name, in the title and description of a request. Use them in templates so every event has the right details at a glance, and each invitation feels personal.

Type { in a title or description to choose a placeholder. You can use placeholders in any scheduling request, not just templates. Developers can also use placeholders with the Embedded Scheduler.

Templates with integrations #

Several integrations use templates to schedule automatically:
